United Airlines is adding flights for fans of both the Philadelphia Eagles and the Kansas City Chiefs to get to Super Bowl LIX. The Chicago-based carrier announced tonight that it will be flying to the Big Easy nonstop from both Philadelphia International Airport (PHL) and Kansas City International Airport (MCI).

United will fly from Philadelphia International Airport (PHL) to Louis Armstrong New Orleans International Airport (MSY) on February 6th, 7th, 8th, and 10th. Three return flights will be offered on February 10th. These flights will all be operated with Boeing 737 MAX 9 aircraft that offer 20 First Class, 42 Economy Plus, and 117 Economy Class seats.

United will also fly from Kansas City International Airport (MCI) to Louis Armstrong New Orleans International Airport (MSY) on February 7th and 8th. Two return flights will be offered on February 10th. The Boeing 737-900 will be used for these flights. It has 20 First Class, 51 Economy Plus, and 96 Economy Class seats.

These flights are in addition to the ones to Louis Armstrong New Orleans International Airport (MSY) from United’s hubs at Denver International Airport (DEN), Houston’s George Bush Intercontinental Airport (IAH), Los Angeles International Airport (LAX), Newark Liberty International Airport (EWR), San Francisco International Airport (SFO), and Washington Dulles International Airport (IAD).

Anthony’s Take: We’ve seen news from JetBlue, Frontier Airlines, and United Airlines. Delta has also quietly added some flights. It’s going to be a big game and the airlines are banking that these special flights will be filled.
