United Airlines announced that starting today, passengers flying in United Business® on transcontinental flights and United First Class to Hawaii will receive new in-flight amenity kits. These kits replace the Away-branded ones that have been distributed with Asutra skincare products.

UA Amenity Kit

The new United premium transcontinental amenity kits offer cruelty-free skincare products from Venus Williams-backed Asutra. They do not contain parabens, phthalates, or petroleum. The amenity kit will include:

  • Asutra cleansing face towelette, nourishing lip balm, and hand lotion
  • Asutra-branded pouch
  • bamboo toothbrush
  • toothpaste
  • Asutra eye mask
  • ear plugs

Stephanie Morimoto, Owner and CEO of Asutra, commented:

As a women-owned, Chicago-based company, we are thrilled to partner with our hometown airline, United Airlines. Our mission at Asutra is to make self-care a possibility for everyone through accessible wellness products. From personal experience, I know that taking care of yourself intentionally while traveling can be challenging. This new amenity kit gives travelers an easy, enjoyable way to take care of themselves while on their journey and arrive refreshed.”

UA Hawaii Kit

The new United Hawaii amenity kits bring the island flare to flyers with a pouch designed by local artist, Christie Shinn. The pouch is made with recycled materials and comes in four different designs.

The kits include:

  • moisturizing lip balm, hand cream, and a refreshing face mist from Ua Body (a Hawaiian brand)
  • eye mask
  • bamboo toothbrush
  • toothpaste
  • ear plugs

Leala Humbert, Founder/CEO of Ua Body, said:

We’re honored to be working with such a powerful partner in United, and proud to continue showcasing our Hawaiian heritage to the world through our handcrafted products.”

Anthony’s Take: United seems to be investing in improving its premium experiences. They recently announced a new seat, wireless charging, the return of the United Polaris® sundae cart, and more. These are all definite steps in the right direction.

How about using the weight and expense for these and partnering with some businesses to improve the premium cabin catering food and beverage on these flights. It’s a disgrace.

Point being I could care less about the amenity kit which many will discard – give us better food and beverage
