While flying between Chicago O’Hare International Airport (ORD) and Tampa International Airport (TPA) this week, I had the chance to try one of American Airlines’ current domestic First Class offerings. I pre-ordered the Grilled Chicken. This was also available as a choice for those that had not made a selection in advance.

The Grilled Chicken was served with “chive mashed potatoes, sautéed haricot verts with maple glaze.”

I ordered a ginger ale. It was served with a large portion of warm nuts.

The tray came with an odd sausage appetizer and a slice of cheesecake. The appetizer might have been bratwurst and was served with a pesto sauce. The chicken was pretty plain, but I enjoyed the mashed potatoes.

I took a bite of the cheesecake for the review and it was not worth the calories.
Anthony’s Take: This meal was better than not eating, but pretty blah and not something that I would go out of my way to eat again.

Why would they serve anything on a skewer. God forbid their was moderate or stronger turbulence. a passenger might accidentally stab them selves in the roof of their mouth or cheek. Talk about a lack of foresight on the catering team. They need to revisit this presentation.
