TAP Air Portugal announced today that it will begin nonstop service between Lisbon’s Humberto Delgado Airport (LIS) and Orlando International Airport (MCO). The new route will begin on October 29th and will operate 3x weekly.

TAP A330900

The Portuguese flag carrier continues to grow its long-haul network connecting Europe with North America. With the addition of Orlando, TAP will serves nine US destinations, including:

  • Boston Logan International Airport (BOS)
  • Chicago O’Hare International Airport (ORD)
  • Los Angeles International Airport (LAX)
  • Miami International Airport (MIA)
  • Newark Liberty International Airport (EWR)
  • New York John F Kennedy International Airport (JFK)
  • San Francisco International Airport (SFO)
  • Washington Dulles International Airport (IAD)

In North America beyond the United States, TAP also operates flights to Cancún International Airport (CUN), Montréal-Trudeau International Airport (YUL), and Toronto Pearson International Airport (YYZ).

The new route will provide travelers in Central Florida with a direct connection to Portugal and onward destinations throughout Europe, Africa, and beyond via TAP’s Lisbon hub. Likewise, the route offers European passengers easier access to one of Florida’s most popular leisure destinations.

Anthony’s Take: With Orlando joining its US map, TAP Air Portugal continues to reinforce Lisbon’s role as a key transatlantic gateway.
