Loyalty Lobby reported this morning that Hilton Honors is currently offering an instant match to its mid-tier Gold Elite status to anyone who has status with another hotel loyalty program and has stayed at least one night in the past 24 months. Hilton Honors Gold is valuable as it offers a daily F&B credit or free breakfast, upgrades, bonus points, free Wi-Fi, and more.
Status Match Requirements:
- Hold status with Marriott Bonvoy®, IHG® Rewards Club, World of Hyatt, Best Western Rewards, or Choice Privileges®
- You cannot currently have Gold or Diamond status
- You can only match once
- Status lasts for 90 days (unless you requalify)
- Stay 8 nights during the 90 days and keep Gold through March 2025
- Stay 14 nights during the 90 days and receive Diamond through March 2025
I currently hold Gold status as a benefit of holding The Platinum Card from American Express. I’ve found that I usually get a good room and I have used the status recently when I found myself staying at Crockfords Las Vegas, LXR Hotels & Resorts (full review here) and the Las Vegas Hilton at Resorts World (full review here).
Anthony’s Take: I primarily stay at Hyatt and Marriott properties, but have held Hilton Gold status for years as a result of holding The Platinum Card from American Express. If you’re planning on staying at some Hilton properties, then jump on this status match.
Anthony’s Credit Card Pick: The Platinum Card® from American Express provides me with many benefits including Gold status with Hilton Honors. It has had a prominent place in my wallet for many years now. While it does have an annual fee of $695, it provides many travel benefits and will always be my go-to for lounge access (Delta Sky Clubs®, Centurion Lounges, and Priority Pass lounges) and booking airfare from the airlines to earn 5x points (up to $500,000 per calendar year).
