Star Alliance has once again been named the World’s Leading Airline Alliance at the World Travel Awards 2025. This extends its winning streak to six consecutive years. The recognition highlights the alliance’s continued commitment to delivering a seamless end-to-end travel experience from booking and airport services to connections and loyalty benefits. The award was announced during the World Travel Awards Grand Final Gala Ceremony held in Bahrain.

This year’s achievement builds on earlier recognition for Star Alliance as the Star Alliance Lounge at Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) was also honored in 2025 as North America’s Leading Airport Lounge for the sixth consecutive year. The lounge has been consistently recognized for its emphasis on comfort, thoughtful design, and attention to the details that elevate the passenger experience.

Now in its 32nd year, the World Travel Awards are regarded as a benchmark of excellence across the global travel. Winners are selected through a worldwide voting process that includes travel industry executives as well as consumer travel buyers to reflect both professional and customer perspectives.

In addition to the alliance-level award, several Star Alliance member airlines received individual awards this year. These accolades spanned multiple categories, including the World’s Leading Airline to Asia and the World’s Leading Airline to Europe. Founded in 1997 as the world’s first global airline alliance, Star Alliance was built around global reach, worldwide recognition, and seamless service. Since its formation, the alliance has focused on creating an integrated travel experience that connects passengers smoothly across airlines, airports, and continents.
