Low-cost carrier, Spirit Airlines, announced several new routes this week including two to/from San Juan’s Luis Muñoz Marin International Airport (SJU), four to/from Baltimore/Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport (BWI), two to/from New York LaGuardia Airport and Newark Liberty International Airport, and one to/from Pittsburgh International Airport (PIT).
Baltimore/Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport (BWI)
Four new routes will fly to/from Baltimore this May. These include:
- Boston Logan International Airport (BOS) (2x daily; starts on May 9th)
- Louis Armstrong New Orleans International Airport (MSY) (5x weekly; starts on May 9th)
- Portland International Airport (PDX) (4x weekly; starts on May 8th)
- San Diego International Airport (SAN) (3x weekly; starts on May 9th)
San Juan’s Luis Muñoz Marin International Airport (SJU)
Spirit will launch two routes to/from San Juan in May:
- George Bush Intercontinental Airport (IAH) (4x weekly; starts on May 8th)
- Louis Armstrong New Orleans International Airport (MSY) (3x weekly; starts on May 9th)
Newark Liberty International Airport (EWR) & New York LaGuardia Airport (LGA)
Finally, Spirit is adding two new flights from the New York area. Service between Pittsburgh International Airport (PIT) and New York LaGuardia Airport (LGA) (daily; starts on May 8th) as well as flights between Newark Liberty International Airport (EWR) and Boston Logan International Airport (EWR) (2x daily; starts on May 8th).
Anthony’s Take: Spirit Airlines is bringing back two routes and launching five others this May. I have enjoyed flying Spirit and am happy to see them continuing out their route network.
