St. Regis is one of my favorite hotel brands. Rooms are elegant and the service is generally top notch. The brand is part of Marriott Bonvoy® and generally offers elite members free breakfast (some exceptions exist like when the St. Regis Chicago opened and I called them out). Southern California had a St. Regis until it rebranded in 2016. Now, Newport Beach is about to see a hotel start flying the St. Regis flag.
Lucky at One Mile at a Time reported earlier today that The Resort at Pelican Hill will be undergoing an extensive renovation and becoming a St. Regis Hotel. This will be the second St. Regis in California with the other being in San Francisco. The property will become part of the Marriott Bonvoy® program on July 1st, but no timeline has been released for its renovations and rebranding.
The luxury property offers ocean views, two golf courses, a spa, several restaurants, 204 guest rooms, and 128 villas. The property looks beautiful and I am always up for checking out another St. Regis.
I’ve stayed at the St. Regis hotels in Atlanta, Bahia Beach, Bal Harbour, Bangkok, Chicago (review here), Mexico City, New York, Osaka, Punta de Mita, Singapore, Toronto (review here), Venice, and Washington DC. There are currently 60 open and pending locations around the globe.
Anthony’s Take: St. Regis is a great brand and I’m always excited to see it expand. This property looks gorgeous and will be even more so after its renovations.
