I have an insatiable sweet tooth. After visiting the Basílica and Convent of San Francisco and its creepy catacombs, we stumbled across the nearby Churros San Francisco.
We knew we had found something good when we saw the line: businesspeople, policemen, and other locals all waiting for these delicious, hot pastries.
Churros San Francisco offers three varieties: Chocolate, Vanilla Pastry Cream, and Dulce de Leche. We tried all three flavors and the Dulce de Leche was my favorite. These are huge and more than enough to share, but they’re so good that you’ll want your own.
These are fried up fresh, filled, and rolled in sugar before they’re handed over to you.
Be prepared to wait a bit, but once you take a bite you’ll know that the time it takes was well spent.
Anthony’s Take: These churros are the best we tasted in Lima and some of the best I have had anywhere. If you go to Lima, pick some up.
