Royal Jordanian Airlines is the flag carrier of Jordan and based out of its capital city, Amman. The airline is part of oneworld® and currently flies to three cities in the United States and two in Canada. Last month, it announced that it was adding flights to Washington Dulles International Airport (IAD). Now, a trio of American Airline’s hubs will serve as three additional destinations for Royal Jordanian.
The US cities that Royal Jordanian serves at present include Chicago O’Hare International Airport (ORD), Detroit Metropolitan Wayne County Airport (DTW), and New York John F Kennedy International Airport (JFK). This is in addition to flights to/from Montréal-Trudeau International Airport (YUL) and Toronto Pearson International Airport (YYZ) in Canada.
Royal Jordanian appears to be planning to expand with several new U.S. destinations: https://t.co/3dWXkBnwPp
• Washington D.C. (IAD) in 2025
• Dallas (DFW) in 2025
• Miami (MIA) in 2026
• Los Angeles (LAX) in 2028So far IAD is confirmed for 2025. Royal Jordanian should be… pic.twitter.com/wgPdKxWenf

The airline is planning to add service to/from the following cities and Amman’s Queen Alia International Airport (AMM):
- Dallas Fort Worth International Airport (DFW) (begins in 2025)
- Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) (begins in 2028)
- Miami International Airport (MIA) (begins in 2026)
Royal Jordanian is expanding its fleet with seven Boeing 787-8s and further plans for six more Boeing 787-9s in the future. Adding routes to/from the United States makes sense. With American’s presence in all three locations, passengers will have tons of options for connections. Frequency and aircraft type for all of these routes has yet to be announced.
Anthony’s Take: Petra has long been on my list and I will someday make it to Jordan. United has cut its flights from Washington Dulles International Airport (IAD). Royal Jordanian might be the easiest way to get there.
