Porter Airlines is a Toronto-based airline that connects passengers to cities across Canada, the United States, Costa Rica, Mexico, and the Caribbean. It announced today that it’s adding flights between Hamilton International Airport (YHM) and both Orlando International Airport (MCO) and Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport (FLL) beginning this December.

Both routes will operate 3x weekly. Porter is the only airline offering nonstop flights between these cities (operating seasonally until April). These destinations also mark Porter’s first US flights from Hamilton International Airport (YHM). They will both be served by 132-seat Embraer E195-E2 aircraft. Porter promises that all passengers receive “celebrity treatment with Porter’s elevated economy experience.” It offers a 2-2 seating configuration and offers a premium experience to all passengers with complimentary snacks, beer, and wine served in glassware, and free Wi-Fi. PorterReserve passengers enjoy additional benefits such as priority check-in, enhanced legroom, and fresh, healthy meals, while these features can also be purchased à la carte with PorterClassic fares.

Porter Airlines Tails

Andrew Pierce, Vice President of Network Planning and Reporting at Porter Airlines, said:

We are continuing to grow our presence in Hamilton, announcing nine nonstop routes this year. This is part of our commitment to taking travelers where they want to go, and we’re pleased to offer Hamiltonians the elevated economy flying experience they deserve.”

Anthony’s Take: It’s good to see some routes between Canada and the United States added. Recently, we have seen many lose frequencies or be cut altogether based on tensions between the two nations.
