She’s at it again. Last year, I wrote about a plus-size woman from Vancouver that started a petition demanding that the US Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) “protect plus-sized customers” by having taxpayers foot the bill for her extra space. The petition has almost reached 39,000 signatures and she’s continuing to champion her cause. She then moved on to complain about the size of hotel hallways and recently claimed that she was abandoned by a wheelchair pusher and gasped for air as she meandered in the jet bridge. Now, she wants rideshare vehicles to include seatbelt extenders to accommodate her ample girth.
@jaebaeofficial Every time I use a ride share, I’m forced to go without a seatbelt because no belt extenders are available. This is a common issue for many plus-size individuals. This isn’t just inconvenient—it’s unsafe. It should be mandatory for ride shares to provide at least one seatbelt extender per vehicle. Companies should reimburse drivers for the cost, which averages around $20. Although I always bring a “universal” seatbelt extender with me, they often don’t work. If each driver carried at least one seatbelt extender specifically fitted for their vehicle, this problem could be eliminated. Safety for all sizes SHOULD NOT be optional. Jaelynn Chaney took to TikTok this week to share her views around rideshare companies and how they should compel drivers to make seat belt extenders available for plus-size passengers in every vehicle. In the video’s caption she says:
Every time I use a ride share, I’m forced to go without a seatbelt because no belt extenders are available. This is a common issue for many plus-size individuals. This isn’t just inconvenient—it’s unsafe. It should be mandatory for ride shares to provide at least one seatbelt extender per vehicle.”
Chaney claims that she brings her own seatbelt extender, but feels that drivers (who already are underpaid) should be forced to buy these extenders on Amazon (they cost around $12 each). People are divided on the addition of these seatbelt extenders. I feel that if you need it in a private vehicle that it’s up to the passenger.
Perhaps, Chaney’s most ridiculous claim is that she has been sent by God to advocate for plus-size people. In my opinion, she is looking for attention and has latched onto the body positivity trend that is falling out of vogue.
Anthony’s Take: This woman never ceases to stop amusing me with her demands and thoughts on what she should be given based on her morbid obesity. Everyone has to adapt when traveling. As I’ve said before, I’m six-foot-five-inches tall. I make sure that I book seats, hotels with beds, and anything else that I need and don’t expect others to foot the bill.

Where did the idea that the world has to cater to your needs come from?
Please don’t EVER again post stuff about someone like this. I’m going to start a petition for THAT! 😉
Heard of bypass surgery? Do something for yourself like get your own car
This article is as useful as one for “Plus Sized person wants more food”
That thing doesn’t have to worry about being ejected from any vehicle.
LIZZO IS LEFT SPEECHLESS AFTER WATCHING NEW SOUTH PARK EPISODE ABOUT HER MORBID OBESITY
Loved it!
Lol, this line: “In my opinion, she is looking for attention and has latched onto the body positivity trend that is falling out of vogue.” I didn’t know anything about this lady, but I watched her tiktok and gave her the view. So I guess you succeeded as her PR person. Her point doesn’t makese when the best method would be for the person to travel with the extender to begin with.

Do the rideshare vehicles get new shocks too?
I love clickbait articles and the opportunities they provide me to express my moral outrage at these entitled morons.
A lot of us have that extra 10-25 lbs to lose. That’s ok and maybe even expected in this day and age of bad food, bad habits, and sedentary lifestyle.
If you’re clinical obese, 99.9% of the times it’s your own fault. Deal with the consequences rather than demanding others pay the price for your personal choices. And I say this as a person who’s definitely NOT on the conservative side of the political spectrum
