Today is May 1st and that means it’s a Bilt Rent Day. I’ve written a lot about the great promotions and games that Bilt runs on the first of every month. You can get the full details around May here.

Bilt Rewards is a revolutionary loyalty program that allows members to earn points on rent payments and other everyday purchases. With Bilt Rewards, you can earn points towards travel and other rewards, simply by paying your rent each month. The Bilt Mastercard® offers even more opportunities to earn. Cardholders earn two points per $1 on travel, three points per $1 on dining, and one point per $1 on all other spend. But these double on Rent Day (the first day, each month).

The doubled rates are as follows:

  • 1 point per $1 spent on rent
  • 2 points per $1 spent on travel (doubles to 4 points per $1)
  • 3 points per $1 spent on dining (doubles to 6 points per $1)
  • 1 point per $1 for all other spend (doubles to 2 points per $1)

Today only, Bilt is partnering with Flying Blue to offer a 100% transfer bonus from Bilt to the program. I normally don’t speculatively transfer points, but this deal is amazing. I decided to transfer 55,000 points from Bilt, so that I would get 110,000 in my Flying Blue account.

Bilt Transfer

In order to do so, you first need to link your accounts in the Bilt app. This only required my name and account number.

Bilt Transfer 2

You then choose the number of points to transfer and you’re done.

Bilt Fail

I tried to transfer points and it looked successful, but the first attempt did not take. The points were withdrawn and redeposited almost instantly.

Bilt Transfer

The second time worked flawlessly. Points arrived within minutes.

I’m now going to find a good deal to use these miles to book a trip to Europe. Flying Blue has a great promo timed for this month. You’ll find Economy, Premium Economy, and Business Class award seats for half the normal redemption costs. Here are the routes and discounts:

  • Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport (ATL) to/from Amsterdam Airport Schiphol (AMS) or Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport (CDG) for 50% off (7,875 miles for Economy and 26,250 for Business Class)

Anthony’s Take: I have loved the Bilt Mastercard® since I got it last year. It’s been great earning points on the rent I pay in Florida during the winter and the bonuses on Rent Day each month are really good.

Love that in the blogosphere “My Experience…” has become shorthand for “How I Clicked Several Buttons that Anyone with a Pulse Should be Able to Figure Out, Too”
