I’ve written a lot about Bilt and Bilt Rewards. Each month, Bilt makes the first fun. It offers bonus opportunities, chances to win points playing a trivia game, and even a contest to win free rent (up to $2,500) for what it calls “Rent Day.” Bilt is a great program with lots of transfer partners and these Rent Day promos make it even sweeter. I am using the Bilt Mastercard® to pay rent on my winter place in Florida again and love it. Today, Bilt Rewards announced some changes to its elite levels back in December and also promised new Milestone Rewards for passing certain earning thresholds. Those details have been revealed and they’re kind of ho hum.

Bilt Rewards status can be earned at the following points or spend levels:

  • Silver (earned with 50,000 points or $10,000 of eligible spending)
  • Gold (earned with 125,000 points or $25,000 of eligible spending)
  • Platinum (earned with 200,000 points or $50,000 of eligible spending)

Before hitting these and along the way to the next level, Bilt has introduced Milestone Rewards. These are earned with points and not spend. These must be earned in a calendar year. They begin at 25,000 points and you can select a reward at these levels:

  • 25,000 points
  • 75,000 points
  • 100,000 points
  • 150,000 points
  • 175,000 points

Bilt-Mastercard

These new Milestone Rewards are fine if you hit them, but nothing worth striving towards. It’s kind of surprising given how generous Bilt is with its monthly promos that these are so mediocre. The theory is great, but the 1,000-point caps on most rewards are too small to be noticeable.

Anthony’s Take: I still love Bilt. It’s points are powerful and easily transferrable to a host of partners. Being able to pay rent (and hopefully soon, my mortgage) is a game changer. Rent Day is a lot of fun and I will continue to earn points and take advantage of the lucrative bonus offers that pop up frequently. Milestone Rewards are not that exciting, but they’re better than nothing.
