Lufthansa announced today that the First Class Lounge in Terminal 2 at Munich International Airport (MUC) has reopened with a refreshed design to complement its new Allegris in-flight cabin. The lounge closed in October 2024 for renovations and is now ready for guests.

There are two First Class Lounges at Munich International Airport (MUC). This lounge is located near Gates G21 and H21 and it’s open daily from 5:00 AM to 10:00 PM. First Class travelers and HON Circle members can enjoy the modern design and amenities in this space that measures around 10,760 square feet. Amenities include an à la carte restaurant, a buffet with an open kitchen, and a newly designed bar.

It also offers restrooms, work areas with printers, and areas with TVs, newspapers, and magazines for those looking to kick back and relax. The space looks gorgeous, but I have always been impressed with other Lufthansa First Class Lounges and the First Class Terminal in Frankfurt (review here). It’s not a huge departure from what was there before and the color palette, design elements, and other amenities are similar.

In addition to this new lounge, First Class passengers will see a renovated First Class check-in area. The new Lufthansa Allegris First Class that’s outfitted in some of the Airbus A350-900 aircraft will fly from Munich is headed to Chicago O’Hare International Airport (ORD), San Diego International Airport (SAN), San Francisco International Airport (SFO), Shanghai Pudong International Airport (PVG), and Bengaluru’s Kempegowda International Airport (BLR).

Anthony’s Take: The lounge redesign is not revolutionary, but it’s what I expect from Lufthansa First Class: understated elegance. I look forward to checking this out in the future.
