Capital One opened its first lounge back in November 2021 at Dallas Fort Worth International Airport (DFW) (review here). Since then, four other locations have popped up along with a cool restaurant concept that it calls the Capital One Landing. One location is open at Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport (DCA) (review here) with a second coming soon to New York LaGuardia Airport (LGA). While making our way home from Italy, we had the chance to check out the Capital One Lounge at New York John F Kennedy International Airport (JFK). It’s Capital One’s largest lounge with a beautiful design and thoughtful amenities. When we visited in early July, the lounge had only been open for around two weeks and everything felt brand new.
Anthony’s Take: I really enjoy spending time in Capital One’s lounges. The New York John F Kennedy International Airport (JFK) location might be my favorite one yet with its made-to-order bagel sandwiches, cheesemonger experience, gorgeous design, and friendly staff. I will definitely be returning in the future.

Bar
Like other Capital One Lounges, all cocktails, beer, and wine are complimentary.
Artisanal soda will be on tap, but this was not yet set up when we visited.
The water dispenser was also out of order.
Other beverage stations were around the lounge.
Cocktail carts are also set to roam the lounge. These were not being used during our visit.
Coffee drinks could be ordered from the barista.
Food
All of the food in the Capital One Lounge is either available on the buffet and individually portioned or made to order by requesting items via QR code. Lunch/dinner was being served when I visited and menu items included a mix of hot and cold items. This does not include the food to go that can be ordered from “The Bodega.” It offers made-to-order coffee using locally roasted beans from Bean & Bean Coffee Roaster. You’ll also find hand-rolled bagels (made on site) from Ess-a-Bagel here (pictured above).
Roasted Heirloom Tomato Crostini
Wild Arugula Panzanella Salad
Everything-Spiced Deviled Eggs
Summer Succotash
Croissants
Other pastries
Chocolate Chip Cookies
Brownies
Butterscotch Blondies
Fresh fruit on the bar
Snacks were on a counter next to The Bodega. Bags allowed guests to take some with them.
We took some chocolate covered espresso beans with us when we left.
The Bodega offers salads and snacks to go.
The selection looked pretty good. You can also order bagel sandwiches here.
The a la carte menu was accessed by scanning a QR code at the table.
The experience that this pulls up is simple and intuitive.
The choices all sounded good and were quite tasty when received. We tried all four dishes.
5 Spoke Creamery Mac and Cheese
Pat La Frieda Braised Berkshire Pork Shank
Chicken Paillard
Rustic White Bean and Spinach Soup
Murray’s Cheese offers guided cheese tastings. This was full during our time in the lounge.
Seating & Décor
The décor is modern with some fun art scattered around the lounge. I liked that there were so many plants as the greenery added a nice touch.
The seating is both comfortable and functional. The lounge was fairly empty when we arrived, but filled up during the time we were there.
Spaces like this were perfect for dining and working.
I liked that there were some divisions in the seating groups.
The art fit the space, but I wish it was more NYC themed. At least the artists that created the more than 40 pieces of art are local.
Amenities
The Capital One Lounge offers free Wi-Fi, a parents room (pictured above), a shower suite, seven private restrooms, private VIP rooms, and the food and beverages mentioned above.
Private VIP rooms can be reserved.
The restrooms are a nice amenity in each Capital One Lounge. It’s nice to have a private and well designed space. The New Yorker covers were a good choice here. My only complaint was that these bathrooms could have been cleaner and better stocked (tissues and paper towels were out).
Wi-Fi was fast and worked well during my visit.
Overall Impression:
Capital One has another winner here. The lounge is now open 24 hours a day and provides one of my new favorite spaces at JFK. It was pretty empty when we arrived, but went onto a waitlist by the time we left. I can’t wait to return in the future and will hopefully get to try the cheese tasting.

Very comprehensive review. How would you compare this one with IAD?
