LATAM is bringing back two routes that it chopped from its route network years ago. Flights between Miami International Airport (MIA) and Buenos Aires’ Ministro Pistarini International Airport (EZE) as well as flights between New York John F Kennedy International Airport (JFK) and Guayaquil’s José Joaquín de Olmedo International Airport (GYE) both begin flying again on December 1st.
The Miami International Airport (MIA) to/from Buenos Aires’ Ministro Pistarini International Airport (EZE) was cut in 2022. The daily flights will use Boeing 787-8 aircraft on the route in December before it’s switched to a Boeing 787-9 the month after. The Boeing 787-8 includes 30 Premium Business and 217 Economy Class seats. The Boeing 787-9 offers 30 Premium Business, 54 LATAM+, and 220 Economy Class seats. American Airlines and Aerolineas Argentinas both fly this route nonstop from Miami.
Flights between New York John F Kennedy International Airport (JFK) and Guayaquil’s José Joaquín de Olmedo International Airport (GYE) will also run daily using Airbus A320 aircraft with 12 Premium Economy, 12 LATAM+, and 150 Economy Class seats. JetBlue currently flies this route nonstop.
LATAM has a big presence at Miami International Airport (MIA) and not having a flight to Buenos Aires’ Ministro Pistarini International Airport (EZE) was a notable omission. Other nonstop routes include:
- Bogota’s El Dorado International Airport (BOG)
- Cancún International Airport (CUN)
- Fortaleza-Pinto Martins International Airport (FOR)
- Lima’s Jorge Chávez International Airport (LIM)
- Punta Cana International Airport (PUJ)
- Quito’s Mariscal Sucre International Airport (UIO)
- Santiago’s Arturo Merino Benítez International Airport (SCL)
- São Paulo/Guarulhos–Governor André Franco Montoro International Airport (GRU)
Anthony’s Take: It’s good to see LATAM adding back these routes and bringing even more competition to the Miami flights. I’ve flown LATAM and enjoyed the experience.
