JetBlue Airways announced today that it is launching lounges in 2025 at its hubs at New York John F Kennedy International Airport (JFK) in Terminal 5 in late 2025 and at Boston Logan International Airport (BOS) in Terminal C. This has long been on the wishlists of many of JetBlue’s elite members and Mint flyers. In addition to this exciting news, the airline is also making several tweaks to the perks offered to elite members.
Lounge Access
TrueBlue Mosaic 4 members will receive complimentary access for an accompanying guest. Few details have been released around the lounges, but it’s an element that was truly missing from JetBlue’s premium travel experience.
More Move to Mint for Mosaic 4 Members
TrueBlue Mosaic 4 members will also see improvements to the Move to Mint Signature Perk. Beginning in 2025, Mosaic members who have earned 250 tiles will receive two additional Move to Mint certificates for every 100 tiles they earn. This provides more opportunities to move into the front cabin on flights offering JetBlue’s premium product. Even better, these certificates will now be valid longer. Travel will no longer need to be completed by your Move to Mint certificate’s expiration date (it will just need to be applied to a booking by that date). Changes are not permitted on or after the expiration date.
With These Additions, There Are Two Minor Casualties
JetBlue giveth and JetBlue taketh away. These new perks are great for top-tier flyers and those who frequently travel in JetBlue Mint to Europe. With these additions, JetBlue has announced two minor cuts.
- Blue Basic fares will no longer be eligible for free Even More® Space seats, free preferred seats, or free same-day switches. JetBlue is essentially making its Basic Economy product more punitive.
- BLADE airport transfers will be going away as a perk. The perk will end this year, but if you earn or already have BLADE credits that expire in 2025, you’ll still be able to use them through the expiration date by transferring them to your BLADE account by 12/31/24.
Anthony’s Take: I love that JetBlue is moving into a more premium-focused airline. It now needs to add domestic First Class seats across its fleet for me to add its flights to the mix. Here’s hoping this comes next as part of JetBlue’s “JetForward” initiative. It includes a $400 million investment between 2025 and 2027 to enhance and expand the airline’s premium products.
