We started our last trip to Italy with a stay at the Park Hyatt Milan. This was the first time I had stayed at the hotel after years of wanting to check it out. It’s a gorgeous property, but I think I prefer the Park Hyatt Vienna (review here) and the Park Hyatt Zurich (review here). The location is incredible with the Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II steps outside of the hotel and the Milan Cathedral a few minutes walk.

Anthony’s Take: We thoroughly enjoyed our one-night stay at the Park Hyatt Milan. The suite was well equipped and comfortable. Everyone we encountered seemed genuinely friendly and the hotel is quite luxe, overall. Breakfast was elaborate and high quality. The hotel is not the easiest to find when driving, but we made it and the staff took good care of our car.

Park Hyatt Milan Booking

Booking

I booked directly on Hyatt.com on a “Standard Room Free Night” rate for 40,000 World of Hyatt® points and used a Suite Upgrade Award. The Park Junior Suite was perfect for us and I was happy to have that locked down at booking. Cash rates had a standard room clocking in at more than €1,000 for the night (the Park Junior Suite was €1,750). This hotel falls in the Category 8 redemption bucket, which means that a standard room will cost between 35,000 and 45,000 points.

Transportation to/from the Hotel

We drove from Milan Linate Airport (LIN) to the hotel. The trip was around 10.2 kilometers and took around 23 minutes. When we left, we had a longer drive to our next stop in Cremia.

Park Hyatt Milan 3

Location

The hotel is well situated for exploring the city with most of the city’s best shopping, restaurants, and attractions nearby. The hotel literally butts up against the Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II.

Check-in

We arrived at the hotel around 2:00 PM and our suite was not ready. We were invited to use the spa until they called. We went down there and hung out for a little more than an hour. At that time, I reached out to the front desk and was told that it was ready for us. Breakfast was free as a Globalist and offered in the restaurant located in the lobby. I requested a 2:00 PM late checkout and was immediately granted it.

The lobby was small with very limited seating that is not part of the restaurant.

I loved all of the fresh flowers.

Park Hyatt Milan 25

The elevator lobby and hallways were clean and in good order. Our floor smelled pretty bad throughout the stay (like a mix of trash and fish). This is not expected at a luxury hotel and I have no idea what was causing the odor.

Breakfast

As mentioned, we had breakfast in the hotel’s restaurant, La Cupola, during our stay. It offers a nice buffet plus several hot dishes that could be ordered directly from the servers. The restaurant is located off of the lobby and was spacious and not crowded when we visited. This included benefit for Globalists has great value here. The buffet for the two of us would have been over $150 per day. It was totally comped along with gratuity. Breakfast is served from 7:00 AM until 11:00 AM every day.

The Park Hyatt Milan has a nice spa and fitness center that includes segregated steam rooms, a co-ed jacuzzi, and a good amount of exercise equipment. There are not many other amenities aside from the restaurant above and one other called Pellico 3 Milano.

We did not get to use the fitness center and I forgot to take photos. These are from the hotel’s website.

Overall Impression:

The Park Hyatt Milan is a lovely city hotel. It does not have much in terms of common areas or amenities, but it makes up for it with great service and impeccable accommodations.
