Last week, I had two conventions in Orlando and Denver. I first spent the night at the massive Hyatt Regency Orlando. The hotel is conveniently located next to the Orange County Convention Center and was just a quick walk to my conference.

Anthony’s Take: The hotel is huge with 1,641 rooms and suites in two massive towers, an nice Regency Club, several restaurants, two pools, spa, and fitness center. The hotel was being renovated last year during my visit (more here). The renovations are done and it’s gorgeous, overall. I was proactively upgraded to a suite and the Globalist treatment at this hotel is great even without an upgrade. I stayed in Tower 1 last year and in Tower 2 this time.

Hyatt Regency Orlando Rate

Booking

My company booked me a 1 King Bed, Pool View room on a negotiated conference rate (it was comparable to the Member Rate). The hotel is a Category 4 property and room redemptions range from 12,000 to 18,000 per night when redeeming World of Hyatt points for a standard room.

Transportation to/from the Hotel

I took an Uber Comfort from Orlando International Airport (MCO). The approximately 13-mile ride took 16 minutes and cost $46. My return to the airport was similarly priced.

Check-in

I arrived at the hotel around 6:00 PM and my suite was ready. I knew that I had been upgraded to a 1 Bedroom Suite, 1 King Bed in advance. The agent informed me about the Regency Club and he explained that it’s located in Tower 2 on the 26th Floor. He told me about the upgrade and offered a late checkout.

Hyatt Regency Orlando Resort Fee

The hotel has a $43 per night resort fee (this increased from $38 last year). This was waived for me as a Globalist.
