AnnTremet Cake is a bakery in the West Village (near Chelsea Market). I was looking for some Christmas-themed activities for us to do today and stumbled upon the bakery’s tea service (with special holiday treats right now). We went this morning and it was a fun and festive experience.
Anthony’s Take: Overall, the Christmas tea service was fun and tasty. I was a little disappointed that two of the pastries were a little frozen inside (meaning they were likely not produced there or were not made that day if they were), but the rest of the cookies, pastries, breads, and bites were delicious.
Decor & Vibe
The bakery is small with just four tables, no bathroom, and a view into the open kitchen.
Cases up front offer a dazzling array of cakes, cookies, pastries, and more.
Adorable Christmas cookies for sale.
Coffee, tea, and hot chocolate are prepared at the front of the bakery.
The dining area was decked out for the holidays.
Food
I booked the Holiday Afternoon Tea, which includes a lot of confections and a shared pot of tea or hot chocolate. It cost $52 per person, plus tax and tip. You choose three mini cakes from the case before being seated. We selected Banana Caramel and two holiday treats. We decided to get hot chocolate instead of tea as that felt more festive.
Our pot of hot chocolate along with marshmallows, candy can pieces, and meringues arrived around 15 minutes after we were seated.
A tower of tasty treats hit the table first. It included everything on the menu above.
Our three mini cakes arrived moments later.
Overall Impression: I found the experience fun and filling. We were given a lot to eat and the hot chocolate yielded about six cups each. The staff was pleasant and this was a nice start to a holiday weekend.
