Frontier Airlines announced today that it’s running a contest and fare sale to celebrate Earth Week. You can enter here to participate in a random drawing for a $250 flight voucher, which enough to travel roundtrip to many destinations served by Frontier. 100 winners will be selected.
The low-cost carrier wants to thank consumers for being green and wants them to take “America’s Greenest Airline Challenge.” This consists of the following:
- Reducing carbon emissions by taking public transportation
- Getting outside to enjoy nature on Earth Day (April 22)
- Reusing or finding a new purpose for an item they would normally throw away
- Showing off a thrift store “outfit of the day”
- Supporting a local business
To further celebrate Earth Week, Frontier is offering promo code “FLYGREEN” for 50% off base fares on bookings made through April 25th on FlyFrontier.com and the Frontier mobile app. Travel is valid on Tuesdays and Wednesdays through August 18th (blackout dates : May 27th and July 2nd).
Frontier Airlines bills itself as “America’s Greenest Airline.” It’s 44% more fuel efficient than its competitors on average and was recognized as the North American Environmental Sustainability Airline of the Year in 2024 by the Centre for Aviation. Last year alone, the carrier saved 168 million gallons of fuel (the equivalent of removing 25 billion plastic bottles from production or 321,000 cars from the road for an entire year).

Anthony’s Take: Airlines are looking more and more to offset carbon emissions, use sustainable fuels, and push for more environmentally friendly travel. While there is still much that needs to be done, it’s good to see the efforts that are being made.
