Frontier Airlines continues to grow its route network recently. Last month, the low-cost carrier announced 55 new routes coming this spring and summer. Last week, 10 new routes to/from Philadelphia International Airport (PHL) were added and yesterday another six were put on the route map from Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport (CVG) (more here). Now, Frontier is showing some love to United’s former hub: Cleveland Hopkins International Airport (CLE).

Frontier will serve a total of 30 destinations from Cincinnati. With the exception of flights to/from Houston George Bush Intercontinental Airport (IAH), these are all routes that are currently without nonstop service. New flights include:

  • Austin-Bergstrom International Airport (AUS) (3x weekly; starts on May 16th)
  • Baltimore/Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport (BWI) (3x weekly; starts on May 16th)
  • Charleston International Airport (CHS) (4x weekly; starts on May 17th)
  • Houston George Bush Intercontinental Airport (IAH) (4x weekly; starts on May 17th)
  • Jacksonville International Airport (JAX) (4x weekly; starts on May 22nd)
  • Myrtle Beach International Airport (MYR) (3x weekly; starts on May 21st)
  • Louis Armstrong New Orleans International Airport (MSY) (4x weekly; starts on May 22nd)
  • Pensacola International Airport (PNS) (3x weekly; starts on May 21st)
  • Salt Lake City International Airport (SLC) (3x weekly; starts on May 16th)
  • Savannah/Hilton Head International Airport (SAV) (3x weekly; starts on May 16th)

Barry Biffle, CEO of Frontier Airlines, said:

Our growth in Cleveland is soaring. We’re thrilled to connect consumers in Northeast Ohio with low fares to even more destinations throughout the U.S. Our new crew base at CLE set to open in March will help support our rapidly growing operations.”

Anthony’s Take: Frontier has been adding tons of new flights recently. Cleveland is now getting beefed up, which is great after it lost so much once United largely pulled out years ago when it lost hub status.

I know the 3C’s sound the same – Columbus, Cleveland, and Cincinnati, but is this article about Cleveland or Cincinnati? Frontier will serve a total of 30 destinations from Cincinnati. With the exception of flights to/from Houston George Bush Intercontinental Airport (IAH), these are all routes currently unserved nonstop. New flights include:

These are from Cleveland. 10 new routes there. They added six from Cincinnati yesterday.
