I am a huge fan of HBO’s hit show, The White Lotus. I have been enjoying it since it first streamed in July 2021. The series has partnered with Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts for each of the first three seasons and the upcoming one will likely take place in one of its properties as well. Now, people are anxiously awaiting the fourth season and trying to guess the location that will be used in filming.

The White Lotus effect is huge. Good luck booking one of the properties featured for a reasonable rate. The show has made the nightly costs astronomical (looking at you, San Domenico Palace, Taormina, A Four Seasons Hotel) and driven crazy numbers of people to these hotels (not that any of these properties were inexpensive in the first place).

Deadline Hollywood first reported that the show’s creator was bringing the dark comedy to France with possible locations including the Grand-Hôtel du Cap-Ferrat, Four Seasons Hotel George V, and Four Seasons Hotel Megève. The front runner is the Côte d’Azur, France property long known for attracting celebrities to the luxe accommodations in the French Riviera. This would align with the first three seasons, which were all filmed in beach locations.

White Lotus

The White Lotus season one took place at the Four Seasons Resort Maui at Wailea, season two took fans to San Domenico Palace, Taormina, A Four Seasons Hotel (watching it made me miss Sicily), and season 3 was set at the Four Seasons Resort Koh Samui. Season 3 was my favorite (mostly because of the location in Taormina, but also because Jennifer Coolidge is just incredible).

The Grand-Hôtel du Cap-Ferrat already serves as a playground for the uber wealthy. If you throw in some infidelity, murder, and mayhem, you’ve got the perfect setting for the next season.

Anthony’s Take: I can’t wait for season four. While season two was my favorite, Parker Posey saying “Buddhism” does take up some real estate in my brain. We’ll have to wait and see if the rumors are true.
