While this event occurred on November 6th, body cam footage has just emerged online. An overly entitled Delta Million Miler caused quite a stir and caused a flight to be delayed after he reportedly filmed the crew not properly providing service (in his opinion) and arguing with them. He allegedly continued quarreling with police after they were called and the aircraft deplaned. The incident occurred on Delta Air Lines flight DL 3166 which was scheduled to fly from Detroit Metropolitan Wayne County Airport (DTW) to Madison’s Dane County Regional Airport (MSN).

Carl Dvorak is the President of Epic Systems. He boarded alongside the other passengers, but reportedly became increasingly disruptive. Law enforcement was called to deal with the “possibly intoxicated” passenger. Flight crew asked Dvorak to deplane and he refused. Even with law enforcement ordering him off of the aircraft, he resisted and reportedly would not unbuckle his seatbelt. He even allegedly uttered the famous line of the self important: “do you know who I am?” None of this worked and he was removed from the aircraft and arrested on a misdemeanor, disorderly conduct charge.

One of the officers who handled the situation shared the following with News 15 WMTV:

Carl continued to argue with me about why he should be allowed to fly back home. I could smell a strong odor of intoxicants coming from his person and observed him to have red glossy eyes. I asked Carl how much alcohol he consumed today and he stated one drink. I advised Carl he was holding up the aircraft from departing and he continued to state ‘I have no idea why you are doing this, I am not going to unbuckle my seatbelt, and you are going to have to drag me off.”

Dvorak released his own statement. It reads:

The way I acted on the plane Wednesday was inappropriate. I have apologized to the airline and their staff, and I apologize to the other passengers.”

Anthony’s Take: If you’re asked to get off of a plane, just go. You’re not going to win no matter who you are. This man likely learned this and hopefully others will take note.

Minor point of clarification but he is the President of Epic, not the CEO. The CEO is Judith Faulkner. But what’s funny is when I first saw this involved a flight to Madison I immediately thought that this must be an Epic exec!
