Delta Air Lines has nowhere as expansive of a route network as United Airlines. The Atlanta-based carrier has a fairly robust international map, but its competitor in Chicago offers scores of additional cities. It looks like Delta is planning on adding a service to Riyadh’s King Khalid International Airport (RUH) and resuming flights to Hong Kong International Airport (HKG) and Tel Aviv’s Ben Gurion International Airport (TLV).

As is often the case, @JonNYC broke this news on X. Flights between Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) and Hong Kong International Airport (LAX) should be announced soon. Delta started this route out of Los Angeles in 1991 and then later flew from Seattle-Tacoma International Airport (SEA). That route was pulled in 2018. Flying to Hong Kong from Los Angeles will come with competition as United Airlines flies 2x daily and Cathay Pacific offers flights 3x daily.

Delta Riyadh 2

Back in July 2024, I wrote about Delta Air Lines and Riyadh Air announcing plans to enter into a partnership when Riyadh Air launches as well as Delta adding its own flights to the Saudi Arabian capitol. The two airlines have signed a Strategic Cooperation Memorandum of Understanding. Its goal was to introduce a host of benefits for passengers traveling between North America and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia as well as other destinations that both serve. It looks like Delta’s flights between Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport (ATL) and Riyadh’s King Khalid International Airport (RUH) are coming. Delta is also set to resume flights to/from Tel Aviv’s Ben Gurion International Airport (TLV). Currently, EL AL has been flying between Tel Aviv and the United States with United Airlines planning on July 22nd return.

Anthony’s Take: I’m happy to see Delta expanding its international coverage. Hopefully, we’ll see some deals to Hong Kong as I’m itching to get back there.
