I love specialty liveries. Whether that’s Star Wars, Dunkin’, or an airline celebrating an occasion (like American’s 100th), custom paint jobs will always pique my interest. China Airlines is bringing a some animated magic to the skies with the debut of Taiwan’s first-ever Disney-themed aircraft. It features a vibrant Zootopia 2 livery on one of its Boeing 777-300ERs. The special design celebrates the sequel to Disney’s blockbuster film and marks a creative partnership that blends aviation with cinematic excitement.

The aircraft’s exterior showcases beloved characters from the upcoming film (it comes out on November 26th), including Judy Hopps and Nick Wilde, who are joined by two new faces: Gary De’Snake and Nibbles Maplestick (alongside the fan-favorite sloth, Flash). Together, the characters create a lively and colorful scene across the fuselage. The vibrant design brings to life the world of Zootopia with detailed artwork that wraps around the aircraft, transforming the Boeing 777 into a flying celebration of the film’s release. The livery also represents a milestone for China Airlines as it marks its first collaboration with Disney and positions itself as the first Taiwanese carrier to launch a Disney-themed jet.

China Airlines Flights

The Zootopia 2 aircraft will serve several of China Airlines’ most popular international routes, connecting Taiwan Taoyuan International Airport (TPE) with Los Angeles International Airport (LAX), Ontario International Airport (ONT), Bangkok’s Suvarnabhumi Airport (BKK), Tokyo Narita Airport (NRT), and Osaka’s Kansai International Airport (KIX). The first official flight will be CI006 from Taiwan Taoyuan International Airport (TPE) to Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) on November 19th. China Airlines is offering a discount on upcoming flights operated with this aircraft. Details can be found here.

Anthony’s Take: I never saw Zootopia and doubt I’ll see Zootopia 2, but I’d love to spot this aircraft out of an airport window. It looks fun and I’m sure Disney and Zootopia fans will get a kick out of flying it.
