Capital One is expanding its airport lounge network again with the first location in North Carolina. It just signed for a new space at Charlotte Douglas International Airport (CLT). This will be the seventh lounge operated by the credit card issuer.
The lounge will be located on the mezzanine level of the airport’s Concourse A expansion and will span roughly 14,000 square feet. This will be the largest Capital One Lounge yet. An opening date has not been announced, but the size and placement of the space suggest an ambitious buildout designed to serve the many travelers coming through this American Airlines hub.

Details on the exact amenities are still under wraps, but Capital One indicated that the lounge will provide an “elevated, regionally inspired travel experience” with tarmac views, local culinary influences, a full coffee bar, and dedicated workspaces. This Charlotte Douglas International Airport (CLT) announcement comes shortly after Capital One expanded its commercial banking presence in the city by opening new offices this past October. The new lounge will further anchor the brand in a rapidly growing financial hub that continues to attract corporate investment and business travel.
Once open, Charlotte Douglas International Airport (CLT) will join an expanding network of Capital One airport lounges across the US, including locations at Dallas Fort Worth International Airport (DFW) (review here), Denver International Airport (DEN), Las Vegas Harry Reid International Airport (LAS) (review here), New York John F Kennedy International Airport (JFK) (review here), and Washington Dulles International Airport (IAD) (review here). This is in addition to the Capital One Landing at Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport (DCA) (review here).
Anthony’s Take: With Charlotte Douglas ranking among the top airports in the United States by passenger volume, it makes sense for Capital One to open a lounge here. The other locations are some of my favorites in the US and I can’t wait to check this one out.

I love that Cap1 is opening a new grandiose CLT lounge. Unfortunately the location sucks. Something much more central is needed.
