Breeze Airways Adds Five New Routes and Resumes Two

Breeze Airways is adding five new routes and resuming two as part of its latest expansion. If you’re not familiar, Breeze Airways is a low-cost airline that offers point-to-point flights to underserved markets across the United States using a fleet of modern Airbus A220 aircraft (and some Embraer E190s). I recently flew Breeze for a second time and loved the experience (you can read the full review here). Travel & Leisure named it as one of the five best US airlines for the second consecutive year in 2023. Breeze serves 60 cities in 31 states.

New routes include the following:

  • Akron-Canton Airport (CAK) to/from Myrtle Beach International Airport (MYR) (2x weekly; starts on June 22nd)
  • Raleigh-Durham International Airport (RDU) to/from Palm Beach International Airport (PBI) (2x weekly; starts on June 21st)
  • Westchester County Airport (HPN) to/from Portland International Jetport (PWM) (2x weekly; starts on June 20th)
  • Westchester County Airport (HPN) to/from Myrtle Beach International Airport (MYR) (4x weekly; starts on June 20th)
  • Wilkes-Barre/Scranton International Airport (AVP) to/from Myrtle Beach International Airport (MYR) (2x weekly; starts on June 20th)

All of these routes will be operated by Embraer E190 aircraft. This is bad news for flyers looking for Nicest/Ascent class seats, which are Breeze Airways’ equivalent to domestic First Class.

Returning routes include:

  • Westchester County Airport (HPN) to/from Jacksonville International Airport (JAX) (4x weekly; starts on June 22nd)
  • Westchester County Airport (HPN) to/from Norfolk International Airport (ORF) (3x weekly; starts on June 21st)

Anthony’s Take: I love that Breeze continues to expand its route network. While these flights are offered on Breeze’s older Embraer E190 aircraft, they open up some routes not currently served by other carriers and add competition to others to help with prices.
