Yesterday, I hinted that Avelo Airlines might be adding flights from Lakeland Linder International Airport (LAL). It is, seven of them, plus 11 other routes including Avelo’s first two international destinations.
Lakeland Linder International Airport (LAL)
Avelo Airlines restarted scheduled commercial passenger service at this airport last month. I took the inaugural flight to Tweed-New Haven Regional Airport (HVN) (review here). Avelo is now expanding with the following new destinations:
- Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport (ATL) (2x weekly on Thursdays and Sundays; starts on November 7th)
- Concord-Padgett Regional Airport (USA) (2x weekly on Thursdays and Sundays; starts on November 7th)
- Delaware’s Wilmington Airport (ILG) (2x weekly on Thursdays and Sundays; starts on November 7th)
- Hartford’s Bradley International Airport (BDL) (2x weekly on Mondays and Fridays; starts on November 8th)
- Manchester-Boston Regional Airport (MHT) (2x weekly on Mondays and Fridays; starts on October 25th)
- Frederick Douglass Greater Rochester International Airport (ROC) (2x weekly on Mondays and Fridays; starts on October 25th)
- San Juan’s Luis Muñoz Marín International Airport (SJU) (2x weekly on Wednesdays and Saturdays; starts on October 26th)

Charlotte’s other airport will see six new routes this fall. These include:
- Albany International Airport (ALB) (2x weekly on Thursdays and Sundays; starts on November 7th)
- Delaware’s Wilmington Airport (ILG) (2x weekly on Mondays and Fridays; starts on November 8th)
- Hartford’s Bradley International Airport (BDL) (2x weekly on Thursdays and Sundays; starts on November 7th)
- Lakeland Linder International Airport (LAL) (2x weekly on Thursdays and Sundays; starts on October 24th)
- Manchester-Boston Regional Airport (MHT) (2x weekly on Thursdays and Sundays; starts on November 7th)

Travelers in Connecticut will have seven new destinations to fly this fall. These include:
- Cancún International Airport (CUN) (2x weekly on Wednesdays and Saturdays; starts on November 20th)
- Concord-Padgett Regional Airport (USA) (2x weekly on Thursdays and Sundays; starts on November 7th)
- Daytona Beach International Airport (DAB) (2x weekly on Mondays and Fridays; starts on November 8th)
- Houston’s William P. Hobby Airport (HOU) (2x weekly on Mondays and Fridays; starts on November 15th)
- Lakeland Linder International Airport (LAL) (2x weekly on Mondays and Fridays; starts on November 8th)
- Montego Bay’s Sangster International Airport (MBJ) (2x weekly on Wednesdays and Saturdays; starts on November 16th)
- North Carolina’s Wilmington International Airport (ILM) (2x weekly on Thursdays and Sundays; starts on November 7th)
Other Routes
- North Carolina’s Wilmington International Airport (ILM) to/from Southwest Florida International Airport (RSW) (2x weekly on Thursdays and Sundays; starts on November 7th)
Avelo will establish dual operations at Hartford’s Bradley International Airport (BDL) as part of its regional Connecticut base on November 7th. The airline will initially position two Boeing Next-Generation 737s there. It will also establish dual operations at Lakeland Linder International Airport (LAL) as part of its Central Florida base on October 24th and will initially position one Boeing Next-Generation 737 there. The airline will look to hire pilots, flight attendants, ground services, customer support, and more at both locations.

Anthony’s Take: I’m excited to see so much growth at Lakeland Linder International Airport (LAL) as well as two international destinations. This is an exciting expansion for both Avelo and its passengers.
