Japanese carrier, All Nippon Airways (ANA), announced today that it will be introducing complimentary Wi-Fi for Business Class passengers. Texting will be free for Premium Economy and Economy Class passengers.

The free Wi-Fi will roll out for Business Class passengers traveling on international flights this summer. Premium Economy and Economy Class passengers will see free texting starting in March 2025.

ANA Wi-Fi

While this service is rolling out on many of ANA’s aircraft, it will not be available initially on its six Boeing 767-300ERs and three Boeing 777-300ERs. Wi-Fi is being suspended on May 31st on the Boeing 767-300ER aircraft because the supplier, SITA, is no longer serving these aircraft. The Boeing 777-300ERs will be getting a new supplier and Wi-Fi will be added then.

ANA has provided complimentary Wi-Fi to First Class passengers for some time and it’s great to see this benefit trickling down to other cabins. We’ve seen some US carriers like JetBlue and Delta Air Lines offer free Wi-Fi and hopefully some other airlines will soon adopt this benefit.

Anthony’s Take: I think all premium cabin passengers should have free Wi-Fi across airlines. It’s a nice benefit and always feels cheap when you’re paying thousands of dollars or high redemption costs to have to cough up more cash to stay connected in flight.
