Hawaiian Airlines and Alaska Airlines are moving closer to fully integrating their operations and that includes combining the two loyalty programs. Starting October 1st, HawaiianMiles will officially become part of a brand-new, unified program. Details are scant, but the airlines released a few yesterday.
Beginning October 1st, HawaiianMiles and Mileage Plan™ members will see their accounts transition into the new loyalty program. That means:
- All miles transfer 1:1 into the new program
- Elite status and benefits will carry over automatically
- Miles will never expire
- Credit card perks and Huaka‘i by Hawaiian benefits stay with those that hold them
Full details of the new program will be released in August. To ensure a smooth transition, member account access will be limited for several days before October 1st. Exact dates will be announced soon, but customers should know that their miles and benefits are safe. While this is likely going to be the case for members, it’s always a good idea to take screenshots to ensure that if there were to be an issue that you have the receipts.
