Air France announced the addition of a new, seasonal route to the Caribbean today with the addition of flights between Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport (CDG) and Punta Cana International Airport (PUJ). The nonstop flights will run 3x weekly between January 13th and March 28th.
The French airline will utilize its Boeing 777-300ER aircraft on this route. It can hold 369 passengers with 48 Business Class, 48 Premium Economy, and 273 Economy Class seats. The carrier currently offers nonstop flights to Caribbean nations like:
- Cayenne Felix Eboue (CAY)
- Guadeloupe Maryse Condé Airport (PTP)
- Havana’s José Martí international Airport (HAV)
- Martinique Aimé Césaire International Airport (FDF)
- Saint Martin’s Princess Juliana International Airport (SXM)
Punta Cana International Airport (PUJ) will be Air France’s sixth Caribbean destination. It’s site also lists Santo Domingo’s Las Américas International Airport (SDQ), but the route does not appear in its schedule. If that route is added for sale than Air France will have two Dominican Republic routes (if anyone has any context, please let me know).
Anthony’s Take: It looks like Air France is directing those looking to get away from the cold to the Caribbean this winter. Punta Cana is getting lots of love lately with Arajet launching more US flights and the St. Regis recently opening there. I’ll be staying in November and will report back.
