United Airlines is adding a United Club℠ at Salt Lake City International Airport (SLC) in October 2026. Delta’s western fortress hub currently only offers a Delta Sky Club®. All other fliers have been out of luck.

The new lounge will measure 6,700 square feet and be located in the new 16-gate expansion known as Concourse B that is currently being constructed. United will operate five of these gates once construction is complete. United currently operates United Clubs℠ at several of Delta’s hubs including Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport (ATL), Boston Logan International Airport (BOS), Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) (also a United hub), Minneapolis-Saint Paul International Airport (MSP), New York LaGuardia Airport (LGA), and Seattle-Tacoma International Airport (SEA). After this opening, United will have lounges in all Delta hubs except for Detroit Metropolitan Wayne County Airport (DTW) (Lufthansa operates a lounge here) and New York John F Kennedy International Airport (JFK) (United does not serve this airport).

Delta Sky Club SLC Step and Repeat

Delta is opening a second Sky Club® in Concourse B as well. As Lucky at One Mile at a Time points out, one of the credit card issuers should open a non-airline lounge in Salt Lake City. He speculates that the coming Concourse C could be a good spot for Capital One, Chase, or American Express to set up shop.

Anthony’s Take: Choice is good and it’s common for airlines to open lounges in competitors’ hubs in order to entice passengers to try the non-hub airline. We’ll see if this is an enhanced lounge to better compete with Delta.

6,700 sq ft seems pretty small. I guess it checks the lounge box but its not exactly a wow offering. DL opened a 30,000 sq ft lounge in ORD and they’re designing a new 15,000 sq ft lounge in DEN…thats how you make a splash at a competitors hub and win customers
