An American Airlines cart caused significant damage to the front of a parked United Airlines plane. It’s unclear why the cart collided, but the impact will certainly take the aircraft out of service for a while.

Airline analyst/watcher @xJonNYC reported on Twitter/X last night and today about the accident. The American Airlines cart hit the United 737-800 while it was parked at Gate M37 in Terminal 5. The plane had arrived from Punta Cana International Airport (PUJ) and would have been brought over to United’s terminals had it not been damaged. No other details have been released, but it appears that no one was injured.
Anthony’s Take: Accidents happen. It looks like the driver misjudged the turn or did not have full control of the cart. I’m sure this will be investigated further and the driver will face some consequences for this misstep.

United needs to retaliate and drive a truck into an American Airlines 737. American can scream and say it was only trying to give United an enhancement.
