NASA’s Artemis rocket launch marks a giant step forward in returning humans to the Moon and preparing for future missions to Mars. Powered by the Space Launch System, Artemis missions are designed to test deep-space exploration capabilities (including the Orion spacecraft and advanced life-support systems). The program aims to establish a sustained human presence on the lunar surface with upcoming missions set to land astronauts near the Moon’s south pole (a region believed to contain water ice). Beyond its scientific goals, Artemis represents a new era of international collaboration and commercial partnerships in space exploration to lay the groundwork for long-term human exploration beyond Earth orbit.

Passengers on board yesterday’s Spirit Airlines flight NK 3830 from Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport (ATL) to San Juan’s Luis Muñoz Marín International Airport (SJU) got a great birds-eye view of the launch and shared video to X.

Here is another view from a different flight.

Anthony’s Take: Some people are commenting that the plane looked close. It’s far enough away that there are no issues with the flight path of the rocket or the aircraft. This must have been cool to watch live.
