Lufthansa has officially launched its new Future Onboard Experience (known as FOX) to upgrade its inflight service across cabins. The new concept debuted in First Class on March 29th and introduces a comprehensive refresh of dining, amenities, and overall onboard experience. The rollout represents a major investment by the airline (developed over two years with input from thousands of passengers and hundreds of crew members).

FOX transforms Lufthansa’s First Class offering into a more personalized and elevated experience with a strong emphasis on fine dining, premium beverages, and tailored comfort. At the center of the upgrade is a redesigned culinary program created in collaboration with two-MICHELIN-starred chef Christoph Kunz. The menus focus on modern, lighter fine dining, featuring a curated sequence of smaller dishes that allow passengers to explore multiple flavors throughout the meal. Guests can choose between a traditional main course or a tasting-style experience while the overall presentation has been enhanced with new tableware and refined service elements.

First Class passengers will continue to enjoy Lufthansa’s well-known caviar service. It’s now presented with additional details such as blinis and mother-of-pearl serving spoons.
The beverage program has also been upgraded, highlighted by the introduction of Veuve Clicquot’s La Grande Dame prestige cuvée (now available on every flight alongside a rotating selection of premium champagnes). A broader drink menu includes new cocktails, long drinks, and non-alcoholic options.

Beyond dining, FOX introduces a more customized approach to onboard comfort. First Class passengers can now select skincare products from an onboard amenity menu with items curated in partnership with premium brand BABOR. These products are delivered directly to the seat to allow travelers to tailor their experience to personal preferences and needs during the flight.
While First Class is leading the rollout, Lufthansa plans to expand the FOX experience across all cabins. Beginning in May, passengers in Business Class, Premium Economy, and Economy Class will also see enhancements as part of the broader initiative. The new service concept applies to all long-haul flights.
Jens Ritter, CEO of Lufthansa Airlines, said:
To mark our 100th anniversary, we are redefining onboard service with FOX – in all classes and on all long-haul flights. We are investing more than 70 million euros in our long-haul service and, with it, in the customer experience. Our new offering combines outstanding comfort with the highest degree of individuality, creating moments that are truly unique. Every detail of our new onboard experience has been designed with the aim of setting new standards in premium travel – not only in First Class, but in all four travel classes.”
Anthony’s Take: By combining high-end culinary partnerships, upgraded amenities, and refined service delivery, Lufthansa is positioning itself to better compete in the evolving premium long-haul market while offering passengers a more memorable journey from takeoff to landing. I can’t wait to check this out.

Looks nice enough. It’ll be interesting to see how the reality compares.
