Contour Airlines announced some interesting new flights today with the addition of new nonstop options connecting San Juan’s Luis Muñoz Marín International Airport (SJU) and St. Thomas’ Cyril E. King Airport (STT) to Douglas-Charles Airport (DOM) in Dominica. This marks Contour’s official entry into the Caribbean market and offers travelers seamless connections, more accessibility, and new opportunities to explore the region.
For the first time, Dominica will enjoy nonstop jet service to both Puerto Rico and the US Virgin Islands. These flights will be operated with Contour’s fleet of 30-seat regional jet aircraft and will offer passengers:
- Generous extra legroom seating
- Complimentary snacks and beverages
- Personalized inflight service
The new routes will begin as follows:
- San Juan’s Luis Muñoz Marín International Airport (SJU) to/from Douglas-Charles Airport (DOM) (4x weekly; starts on September 25th)
- St. Thomas’ Cyril E. King Airport (STT) to Douglas-Charles Airport (DOM) (3x weekly; starts on September 24th)
By establishing the only nonstop jet routes from Dominica to San Juan and St. Thomas, Contour is redefining air travel convenience for both residents and visitors alike. Contour Airlines’ new flights reflect its commitment to expanding travel opportunities across the region. By improving access between Dominica, Puerto Rico, and the US Virgin Islands, Contour is building stronger ties across commerce, culture, and tourism.
Ben Munson, President of Contour Airlines, said:
We’re thrilled to bring Contour’s brand of reliable, comfortable jet service to the Caribbean. Launching service in Dominica is an exciting step for us, and we look forward to making it easier for Dominicans to travel and for visitors to discover Dominica, the Nature Island.”
It’s interesting to see that one of these routes, San Juan’s Luis Muñoz Marín International Airport (SJU) to/from Douglas-Charles Airport (DOM), was formerly served by Silver Airways. With the airline ceasing operations in June, several routes have been left unserved.
Anthony’s Take: One has to wonder how many other routes Contour will begin to fly in the Caribbean. Silver Airways left a hole in the route map and it makes sense for them to try to fill it.

Contour is working towards acquisition. Now bookable through AS we will continue to see them build until a takeover/sale.
