The Transportation Security Administration (TSA) revealed that it was expecting more than 18 million people to be screened for the Memorial Day holiday period (they use May 22nd to May 28th for these figures). It’s well on its way and had its third busiest day on Thursday, May 23rd.

TSA officials screened 3,009,812 people last Thursday. This number represents the third busiest day in the agency’s history and it’s not too far behind spots one and two (these were set in 2024). The TSA will continue tabulating screening data over the next few days and expects to continue to see a surge in passengers heading through the airports across the country.

Anthony’s Take: I’m going to guess that today might surpass Thursday when all is said and done. I’m still waiting for this “revenge travel” thing to die down.
