Low-cost carrier Avelo Airlines gave its route map a haircut this week and is cancelling seven routes this summer. This includes two that have yet to launch and a notable pullback at Concord-Padgett Regional Airport (USA).
Routes getting the axe include:
- Concord-Padgett Regional Airport (USA) to/from Albany International Airport (ALB) (ends on April 24th)
- Concord-Padgett Regional Airport (USA) to/from Detroit Metropolitan Wayne County Airport (DTW)
- Concord-Padgett Regional Airport (USA) to/from Lakeland Linder International Airport (LAL) (ends on April 28th)
- Concord-Padgett Regional Airport (USA) to/from Nashville International Airport (BNA) (ends on April 28th)
- Concord-Padgett Regional Airport (USA) to/from Washington Dulles International Airport (IAD)
- Charles M. Schulz-Sonoma County Airport (STS) to/from Boise Airport (BOI) (ends on April 27th)
- Charles M. Schulz-Sonoma County Airport (STS) to/from Salt Lake City International Airport (SLC) (ends on April 27th)
I had recently written about the Devil’s flight (number 666) that Avelo Airlines. That will not come to be flown. Detroit Metropolitan Wayne County Airport (DTW) and Washington Dulles International Airport (IAD) were just announced last month and they will also not see launches. Avelo would have had 14 nonstop routes from Concord-Padgett Regional Airport (USA). With these cuts, it will drop to nine. The airport was just made a base in December, but is now seeing some pullback.
Aviation watchdog, @IshrionA, caught these changes and also notes that Avelo Airlines will not be operating any scheduled passenger flights on Tuesdays throughout the summer.
Anthony’s Take: All airlines are constantly tweaking schedules based on demand and market conditions. Avelo has made some cuts here, but will certainly be adding routes once again in the near future.
