A video surfaced last night that shows a pair of Spirit Airlines agents arguing, chest bumping, and even knocking one of them onto the baggage belt behind the ticket counter. It’s unclear what airport that this took place, but there was no service with a smile here.

View from the Wing first posted this crazy interaction and I couldn’t help but laugh as the larger of the two women says “do not play with me” as she knocks her coworker onto the baggage belt. The situation seems to simmer down as the video ends with an agent typing on a computer alone.

We’ve seen gate agents curse at customers and yell at passengers, but most of the time the anger is not directed at fellow employees. This is certainly not helping Spirit’s image.

Anthony’s Take: I enjoy flying Spirit, overall. I’m hopeful that the airline can emerge from bankruptcy a stronger carrier, but we’ll need to see. Employees like this will not help the beleaguered airline as it charts a path forward. If they treat each other this way, imagine being a customer.
