Delta Air Lines announced this week that it’s adding daily, nonstop service between New York John F Kennedy International Airport (JFK) and Lagos’ Murtala Muhammed International Airport (LOS) in December. The seasonal flights will complement Delta’s existing route from Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport (ATL).

From December 2nd through March 28th, Delta will fly between New York John F Kennedy International Airport (JFK) and Lagos’ Murtala Muhammed International Airport (LOS). These flights will be operated by Airbus 330-200 aircraft, which offer 34 Delta One®, 21 Premium Select, 24 Comfort+, and 144 Main Cabin seats.

Michael Otubu, Managing Director, Quantum Travels Limited, said:

We are thrilled about Delta Air Lines reintroducing its New York-Lagos route just in time for the holiday season. This service is crucial for our clients, especially with the high demand for travel between the U.S. and Nigeria during this period.”

Lola Adefope, Managing Director, Business Travel Management Limited, added:

The timing and combination of Delta’s renowned in-flight service along with daily flights during the peak travel months, ensures that our customers will have a stress-free journey between the US and Nigeria.”

Passengers departing and those with connections upon arrival at New York John F Kennedy International Airport (JFK) can enjoy the fabulous Delta One® Lounge (my full review here).

Anthony’s Take: I have no plans to go to Nigeria, but Delta sees demand and has added this route. Homosexuality is criminalized there and until that changes, it’s not on my travel list.

Nigeria is on my list.

Going to Togo, Ghana and Ivory Coast in January from JFK. Nigeria next time around. 🙂

West Africa is always an adventure.
