I voraciously devoured seasons one and two of the Max hit series, The White Lotus. The show offers an over-the-top look at luxury and excess. Its cinematography and sets (largely in Four Seasons hotels) draw you into a world of the workings of high-end hotels and the interesting guests that inhabit them along with a healthy mix of sex and murder. Season three was confirmed to take place at the Four Seasons Koh Samui back in February and a new partnership between HBO and Four Seasons Hotels will offer guests an immersive experience.
To celebrate the partnership and the show, Four Seasons Hotel Westlake Village will transform into the world’s first immersive hotel experience inspired by the show. This experience will allow guests to indulge in a luxurious celebration of the third season’s launch. The partnership will also feature on-site activations at Four Seasons properties around the world designed to engage guests with themes taken from the show and brought to life in dining and wellness activities. No specific details have been provided yet.
Not much has been revealed about the plot of season three, but it was filmed at Four Seasons Resort Koh Samui in Thailand. The resort overlooks the Gulf of Thailand and is surrounded by sandy beaches, tropical greenery, and blue seas.
Marc Speichert, Executive Vice President and Chief Commercial Officer at Four Seasons, said:
Formalizing our partnership with HBO and Max marks an exciting milestone in our journey together, embracing a cultural phenomenon that blends exceptional storytelling with the universal love of travel. Mike White and his team have created something truly special. For many Four Seasons guests, especially our pop culture enthusiasts and travel trendsetters, The White Lotus serves as the perfect travel inspiration. After showcasing the beauty of Maui and then our breathtaking Taormina property, we’re excited to celebrate Koh Samui in the third season of this beloved show.”
I have not stayed at the property in Taormina, but did see it while we were in Sicily a few years ago. This was before season two and the rates went sky high based on the show’s popularity. This is a genius partnership and one that is letting people explore these luxe properties while they enjoy a great show.
Anthony’s Take: I can’t wait for season three of The White Lotus. It’s due in the first half of 2025 and I’m excited to see where the continuing story goes in Thailand.
