Porter Airlines is a Toronto-based airline that connects passengers to more than 20 cities across Canada and the US. The airline launched daily, nonstop flights this week from Toronto-Pearson International Airport (YYZ) to Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport (PHX).

These new flights are operated with a 132-seat Embraer E195-E2 aircraft. Porter promises that all passengers receive “celebrity treatment with Porter’s elevated economy experience.” It offers a 2-2 seating configuration and offers a premium experience to all passengers with complimentary snacks, beer and wine served in glassware, and free Wi-Fi. PorterReserve passengers enjoy additional benefits such as priority check-in, enhanced legroom, and fresh, healthy meals, while these features can also be purchased à la carte with PorterClassic fares.

Kevin Jackson, President of Porter Airlines, said:

This inaugural flight from Toronto to Phoenix builds on Porter’s growing Western U.S. presence – now with service in Las Vegas, Los Angeles, Palm Springs, San Diego and San Francisco. Our unique approach to economy air travel is something that Arizona will welcome, as we continue delivering on our promise of making flying better.”

Anthony’s Take: I’ve flown Air Canada and WestJet (I compared their Business Class offerings here), but still have yet to try Porter Airlines. It’s great to see the growth of this Canadian carrier and I hope to try them in the future.
