T’way Air is a South Korean low-cost carrier based in Seoul. Last week, it launched flights between Seoul Incheon International Airport (ICN) and Zagreb Franjo Tuđman Airport (ZAG) in Croatia. This marks T’way Air as the first South Korean low-cost carrier to connect Seoul with Europe.

The route will be operated 3x weekly (Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays) with an Airbus A330-300 aircraft. The aircraft is outfitted with 347 seats including 12 in Business Class. Complimentary in-flight meals are offered to both Business and Economy Class passengers on this route. The flights connect Seoul Incheon International Airport (ICN) and Zagreb Franjo Tuđman Airport (ZAG) with a fuel stop in Manas International Airport (FRU) (Kyrgyzstan) a plane flying in the sky

Hong-Geun Jeong, CEO of T’way Air, said:

We are excited to launch our first European destination, connecting Zagreb and Seoul. This new service offers travelers an affordable and convenient option, and we believe this route will boost Croatia’s tourism industry and enhance the exchange between two countries.”

T’way Air began operating longhaul flights from Seoul Incheon International Airport (ICN) in 2022 with service to Sydney Kingsford Smith Airport (SYD). The airline operates routes to  JapanChinaSoutheast AsiaCentral Asia, and Australia with a fleet of Boeing 737-800s and Airbus A330-300s. This is its first destination in Europe.

Anthony’s Take: I had never heard of this carrier before seeing this announcement. It seems like the airline is well regarded and expanding with its first route to Europe.
