The Las Vegas Loop is one of the best additions to Sin City in years. It currently connects Resorts World with the Las Vegas Convention Center and saves convention-goers hours of time waiting for taxis and rideshares. The Boring Company (who operates these Tesla rides) just announced that it has transported more than two million passengers.
The Las Vegas Loop is a transportation system that was created by the Boring Company, a tunnel construction firm founded by Elon Musk. The system consists of a growing network of underground tunnels that will allow for the efficient movement of people and vehicles throughout the city of Las Vegas.
The concept of the Las Vegas Loop is simple: passengers will be transported in electric vehicles that will travel through a series of tunnels equipped with automated guideway systems. These systems will allow for high-speed travel without the need for a driver, greatly reducing the risk of accidents and improving overall safety. The Teslas that currently run in Las Vegas do have drivers, but at some point the system will go driverless.
The Boring Company has been approved to create 81 additional stops throughout Las Vegas (shown above). The Las Vegas Loop currently has a peak capacity of more than 4,500 passengers per hour and around 32,000 passengers daily.
The Boring Company has only the first phase of the Las Vegas Loop running. It includes a tunnel that runs from the Las Vegas Convention Center to Resorts World. The second phase of the project will include the construction of additional tunnels to connect other major Las Vegas destinations, including Harry Reid International Airport, the Strip, and downtown Las Vegas. Once completed, the Las Vegas Loop will provide a fast, convenient, and environmentally-friendly transportation option. I could not believe that a daily ticket only costs $5.
One of the most exciting aspects of the Las Vegas Loop is its potential to revolutionize transportation in other cities as well. The Boring Company’s tunneling technology could be used to create similar systems in other urban areas, providing a more efficient and sustainable alternative to traditional modes of transportation.
Anthony’s Take: I am a big fan of the Las Vegas Loop. I liked it better when no one knew about it, but it’s still the most convenient way to get from Resorts World to the Las Vegas Convention Center. I can’t wait for more stops to be added.

Digging underground tunnels and transporting passengers in individual cars whose manufacture requires untold amounts of metals, plastics, rubber and other resources is not exactly environmentally friendly. Looks pretty much like a traditional mode of transportation too.
The monorail is much better in a plethora of ways, among which are that it doesn’t require hundreds or thousands of staff per hour to operate. However, the monorail lobby didn’t have Elon’s vast wealth so the monorail was stuck with a route that does not include the airport or downtown. That’s why it is not going to survive.
This is a subway. The idea the anybody could look at this and think it’s a great new idea has taken a few too many tokes.
the singular reason some with a brain could find this appealing is because they really don’t want to be in the same passenger compartment with other humans. besides that this is a complete waste of time and space. and the “i can’t believe it’s just 5 bucks for a day take”? get real, think back to uber 15 years ago. there is NO way that’s sustainable.
The Loop has not, and is unlikely to be approved for a connection to the airport.
