Frontier Airlines is returning to San José Mineta International Airport (SJC) this year. The low-cost carrier left San Jose and Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) in 2021 and consolidated its operations at nearby airports.

The airline will launch flights to:

  • Denver International Airport (DEN) (daily; starts on July 22nd)
  • Las Vegas Harry Reid International Airport (LAS) (daily; starts on August 13th)
  • Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) (daily; starts on August 13th)
  • Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport (PHX) (daily; starts on August 13th)
  • San Diego International Airport (SAN) (daily; starts on July 22nd)

Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) and San Diego International Airport (SAN) are new routes while the other three are resumptions. Frontier began running codeshare flights with Mexican airline, Volaris earlier this month (more here). It operates daily flights from San José Mineta International Airport (SJC) to/from Miguel Hidalgo y Costilla Guadalajara International Airport (GDL).

Anthony’s Take: Frontier Airlines continues its expansion with a solid go at San José Mineta International Airport (SJC). It’s good to see California’s fifth largest airport continue to grow.
