TSA DL

Arden Hudson, TSA’s Federal Security Director for the State of Louisiana, said:

We are pleased to introduce this cutting-edge digital ID at our checkpoint. Those travelers who are early adopters of new technologies or are intrigued with this capability will find the mDL to be a convenient option when going through the security process. The TSA continues to embrace technology and we are happy to partner with the State of Louisiana and the leadership at Louis Armstrong New Orleans International Airport.”

In order to use a digital ID, you need to:

  • Scan your Digital ID QR code or tap your mobile device on the digital ID reader .
  • A message on your mobile device will ask you to consent to share your digital ID information with TSA.
  • Once you consent, the camera will take your picture.
  • Follow the officer’s instructions.

Anthony’s Take: As this program continues to roll out, the TSA is making it easier than ever to get through security quickly and effortlessly. I am getting a Real ID when I renew my license next month and I look forward to being able to use a digital ID in the future.
