I held United’s invitation-only status known as Global Services® (GS) for years. It provides dedicated check-in lobbies at its hubs, access to additional upgrade inventory when using PlusPoints, early boarding, and some other perks. I eventually decided that the money I was spending and the hamster wheel that I was on (to only fly United) was too much and I dropped down to Premier 1K® while adding status with Delta Air Lines and American Airlines. One GS member seems to think that his status makes him the most important person on the plane and gives him the right to trample the family trying to board ahead of him.
Gary at View from the Wing first highlighted the video above and this man’s behavior is pretty next level. I’m not a fan of families boarding first. I think it makes more sense for them to board later as the kids get antsy having to sit longer and end up not wanting to have to be on the plane longer than they have to be, anyway. That does not excuse this man as he could have easily waited for this family to board and still would have had plenty of space for his oversized bags.

I’m wondering if United has made a change to boarding order as its site now has families listed before Global Services® members. They used to board after and before Premier 1K® members. If this order is to be believed than GS just got another downgrade.
Anthony’s Take: This guy is acting so entitled and the way he continues to carry on makes him the [expletive] as the Reddit threads ask. It’s amazing that he doubled down after being called out and still tried to maneuver around the family.

This man has spent a significant portion of his life on a plane, away from family and friends. How dare some family with children try to take away one of the only few remaining perks he gave up his miserable life for??!?!?
I’ll play devils advocate. The guy is so used to getting cut in front of by group 7 gate lice that he assumed this was the typical. But he was wrong.
I’ve been there, but he still seemed pretty rude.
