Back in May, I wrote about Hilton partnering with with AutoCamp to offer guests the ability to stay in custom Airstreams and luxury tents. This would provide guests access to outdoor adventure with the comforts of a boutique hotel. Now, World of Hyatt has announced that Under Canvas’ 13 outdoor resorts are now bookable as part of its Mr and Mrs Smith partnership.
World of Hyatt members will be able to earn and redeem points for Under Canvas stays. Members will also earn elite qualifying nights for eligible stays.

- World of Hyatt members elite members receive their standard tier bonuses: 10% for Discoverist, 20% for Explorist, and 30% for Globalist
- World of Hyatt members using their World of Hyatt Credit Card or World of Hyatt Business Credit Card will receive 4x World of Hyatt points per $1 spent for Mr & Mrs Smith stays
Properties include Under Canvas Bryce Canyon, Under Canvas Grand Canyon, Under Canvas Lake Powell-Grand Staircase, Under Canvas Moab, Under Canvas Zion, and ULUM Moab.
Mark Vondrasek, Chief Commercial Officer at Hyatt, said:
Travelers are looking for new and unique experiences to reconnect with nature in off-the-beaten-path locations. By adding these luxury outdoor camps to World of Hyatt, we are bringing more memorable travel experiences for our guests and members. Hyatt offers one of the fastest-growing luxury portfolios globally and with the inclusion of these incredible Under Canvas camps in World of Hyatt, we continue to double down on this focus and bring immense value to our rapidly growing member base.”
Matt Gaghen, Chief Executive Officer of Under Canvas, added:
Under Canvas is the leading outdoor resort company in the United States, with 13 locations outside of national parks and adventurous destinations such as Acadia, Glacier, Moab, Yellowstone, Yosemite, and Zion,” said . “We’re looking forward to welcoming World of Hyatt members to our beautiful, safari-inspired camps so that they can experience true comfort in nature in these amazing destinations. This exciting collaboration with Hyatt will further our goal of connecting more people with extraordinary places, people, and the planet by enhancing access to the outdoors.”
Anthony’s Take: Upscale camping (also known as glamping) is growing in popularity. While I have not been camping since I was a Boy Scout and have no intentions to do so, this will definitely appeal to a growing group of outdoor enthusiasts who also want to earn and redeem World of Hyatt points.
